Many caves around the world have issues with flooding. A major rainfall can cause the cave to become flooded which means that there can be no access to the cave. According to Blaze, there has been no extreme flooding that has affected the Crystal Cave tours. Blaze did mention that the cave has had some leaks, but he uses the leaky water to his benefit. He turns the threatening water into “sexy water”, as mentioned earlier in the website. Blaze developed a system in the cave that diverts the leaking water to an area where it will be harmless; this is helpful so the tourists are not walking in muddy water. This subject is not a humorous issue with many other caves. There have been reported deaths in areas such as Thailand where people have been trapped in a cave during a flood. Most caves have rivers or streams running right through the cave, which means that they have a higher potential of flooding. |
