June 1999The spring 1999 Tae Soo Do black belt class consisted of Joe Coughlin, Brandon Schoonmaker, Susan Polege, Joe Cronick (Wausau), and Jim Donovan (Madison). The Tae Soo Do black belt testing is a series of four tests. The first three tests are closed tests, but the final test is a demonstration in front of an audience of instructors, other students and family and friends. Click on the thumbnail images to bring up a larger photograph. This demonstration was held in June of 1999. The demonstration can be whatever the candidates choose to showcase what they have learned throughout their training in Tae Soo Do. This demonstration consisted of a long form (performed together), a weapons form (each of the four candidates created and performed separately), two-person defenses, and breaking. Mr. Schoonmaker could not be there, so he tested at a later date. The pictures below are from his demonstration in September of 1999. The instructors present were (L-R) Kyo Sa Nim Aaron Doty, JoKyoNim Scott Pingel, Sa Bum Nim Aaron Warnke, Kwan Ja Nim David Kijek, Sa Bum Nim Chris Ochalla, Kyo Sa Nim Dylan Sirny, and Tae Soo Do JoKyoNim Dave Borglund.
