The University Self-Defense Workshops are designed to promote self awareness and increased safety to the campus and community members of the Eau Claire area. Students, Faculty, and Community members are able to work in a safe, educational, and comfortable environment while learning how to be aware of situations before they occur in order to become proactive instead of reactive towards their surroundings. The programs is based on the applied techniques of the Martial art/Healing art know as Hwa Rang Do®. The Eau Claire Self-Defense Workshops were developed by the UWEC Hwa Rang Do®/Tae Soo Do® club as a community out reach program that has since developed into a class, held once a month on the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire campus. The Workshops, funded by community members, help to raise funds for the Bolton Refuge House for Battered and Abused Women. The UWEC Self-Defense Workshops are also available to off campus groups and organizations for functions and demonstrations. For more information feel free to contact the UWEC Hwa Rang DoŽ/ Tae Soo DoŽ Club.
