Floating Legal Holidays |
|
During
2006, classified staff will have two floating legal
holidays, December 24 and December 31. These holidays fall
on Sundays and are followed by Monday holidays. Employees will be able to use
these two legal holidays any time during 2006, and must use them by
December 30, 2006 or the hours will be lost. When using
floating legal holidays, use the code LH on timesheets.
-
Full-time employees:
the legal holiday balance on earnings statements will reflect a negative balance
after using the hours, until the hours
are actually earned.
-
Part-time employees:
the legal holiday balance on earnings statements already includes
the two holidays.
|
|
December 25, 2006 and
January 1, 2007 are legal holidays.
The university will be
closed.

Floating Holidays |
|
During the 2006-2007
fiscal year, there are two legal holidays (December 24, 2006 and
December 31, 2006) that fall on Sundays. Unclassified staff
who earn vacation are eligible to use these days at another time
(floating holidays). The legal holiday hours will be added to
the floating holiday balance at the time they are earned. You
may anticipate the use of these legal holidays, and the leave report
may show a negative balance until December/January. These
legal holidays must be used by June 30, 2007; there is no provision
to carry them into the next fiscal year or to include them with your
annual leave reserve hours.
Please note:
December 25, 2006 and January 1, 2007 are legal holidays that fall
on Mondays. When a legal holiday falls on a Sunday, the
university is closed the following Monday and "floating time" is
accumulated. Contact Sue Pettis at 36-2018 or e-mail
pettissl
with questions.
