• Student Leadership Recognition Awards - Thursday, February 17 in the Council Fire Room. There is a reception at 5pm and the program starts at 5:30pm.
• Mr. Freeze Pageant - Thursday, February 10 at 7pm in Higherground. Applications can be picked up at Higherground or the Activities and Programs Office, Davies 132 and are due by 11pm on February 9.
• Student Senate - There is still time to pick up election petitions. Stop by the Student Senate office for more details.
• Internship Mania - February 9
• University Recreation - A copy of the University Recreation Special Events Calendar was available for people to view.
• Tsunami Relief Day - Yulisa Lin is interested in creating a Tsunami Relief Day on February 26. For more information, email linyi04@hotmail.com.

Upcoming Events

Special Olympics Basketball & Gymnastics Tournament: The tournament is Saturday, March 12 at UW Stout. The volunteer signup sheet is in the Honors Program Office next to the Breakfast with a Professor signup binder. All volunteers will pick up their assignments on Tuesday, March 8 anytime from 11am - 1pm in front of the Council Fire Room. The registration deadline is February 23. Shift times are: 9am-1:30pm, 1:30pm-6:30pm, or 9am - 6:30pm

Honors Conference: The Annual Conference of the Upper Midwest Honors Council will be held March 31-April 2 at Drake University in Des Moines. This is a regional conference and Paul was hoping to take up to four students as participants and possibly even presenters. The information for the conference is available at http://www.drake.edu/honors/NEWHonorsSites/UMHCHome.htm. If you are interested in going to the conference, contact Paul (hoffpj@uwec.edu) as soon as possible.

Bowl for Kids Sake: May 2-6 at Wagner's. HPO usually decorates the bowling alley for this event. The theme this year is Sports Super “Bowl”. We will also try to form a team this year. More information will be available at our next meeting.

Relay for Life: The Relay for Life is April 22-23 from 6pm to 6am in McPhee. Registration packets were available for those interested in signing up. If you would like to participate, let me know.

Honors Week: Honors Week this year is April 18-24, with the reception and banquet on April 23. As an honors organization, we should sponsor an event that week. If you have any ideas, let me know.

Ideas for Activities

Before ending the meeting, we thought of activities we would like to do this semester. If you can think of anything else, let me know.

• Pie Night
• Movie Night somewhere on Campus

Next Meeting

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, February 23 at 9pm. Location to be announced.
