The Human Sciences and Services Building sits on the north side of campus, overlooking the Chippewa River. This building houses classrooms and offices for faculty in the departments of special education, social work, communication sciences and disorders, and public health professions. UW-Eau Claire's Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, Human Development Center and the Center for Communication Disorders also are housed in the Human Sciences and Services building, which was constructed in 1982.
