Setting Your Work Week

You can customize your calendar to fit your work week and working hours. This helps you better visualize when appointments will be occurring. This document describes how to make changes to the following:

Work week
Changes to this option affect the Week view of your calendar when you have Show work week selected; the days displayed in this view comprise your work week.

First day of week
Changes to this option affect the calendar as it appears in the Navigation pane, the To Do bar, the Month view, and the Week view when you have Show full week selected.

Start and end times
Changes to this option affect the Week view. Times outside of the parameters set here appear shaded.

 

To set your work week:

These instructions tell you how to change the above options to customize your calendar's work week. These instructions use the example of a calendar where the work week is Monday - Friday, the first day of the week is Monday, and the work day is 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM.

  1. From the Tools menu, select Options...
    The Options dialog box appears.

  2. In the Calendar section, click CALENDAR OPTIONS...

  3. In the Calendar work week section, select the days that make up your work week
    EXAMPLE: Select Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, and Fri

  4. From the First day of week pull-down list, select the desired day
    EXAMPLE: Select Monday

  5. From the Start time pull-down list, select the desired time
    EXAMPLE: Select 7:30 AM

  6. From the End time pull-down list, select the desired time
    EXAMPLE: Select 5:00 PM

  7. Click OK
    The settings are applied.
