After creating your list, you can customize its appearance and functionality. This document explains how to alter bulleted lists (unordered lists) and numbered lists (ordered lists).
You have a few options for the style of bullets in your bulleted list.
Select the plain bulleted list, or sublist, to be modified
From the Format menu, select Bullets and Numbering...
The List Properties dialog box appears.
Select the Plain Bullets tab
Select the desired bullet option
NOTE: The box that displays no bullets turns the bullets off.
OPTIONAL: To use collapsible outlines, select Enable Collapsible Outlines
NOTE: For a definition of collapsible outlines, refer to List Terminology.
Click OK
There are various options for the style of numbers used in your list. A numbered list allows you to move chronologically through information.
Select the numbered list, or sublist, to be modified
From the Format menu, select Bullets and Numbering...
The List Properties dialog box appears.
Select the Numbers tab
Select the desired numbering option
NOTE: The box that displays no numbers turns the numbers off.
OPTIONAL: To specify the first number in the list, in the Start at text box, type the desired number
OPTIONAL: To use collapsible outlines, select Enable Collapsible Outlines

Click OK
