Microsoft Entourage 2008

Locating UW-Eau Claire Recipients

When sending a message, Entourage can help you find a recipient's email address by searching established directories or by using the Check Names feature. In addition, there are other ways to to locate email addresses outside of Entourage. This document will help you locate the names and email addresses of UW-Eau Claire faculty/staff or students.

Depending on your settings, as you type addresses in the To, Cc, and Bcc text boxes, an autocomplete list may appear with a heading titled Contacts and Recent Addresses. This list will suggest names and email addresses from your Address Book and your account folders (e.g., the Inbox, Drafts, and Deleted Items folders).

The Check Names feature allows you to find a person's email address with only their name or part of their name, which is helpful when an email address is unknown, forgotten, or if the recipient's last name is very common. The names found using this method come from the Global Address List and include only faculty, staff, and students of UW-Eau Claire from established LDAP servers. Entourage gives you the option to search for recipients after you click SEND. If you want to check names while sending an email, you must first activate this option.
