Using the Field Chooser

The categories of information that are displayed with your messages are referred to as fields. You can easily customize which information is displayed in your Inbox or Address Book list by adding, deleting, or rearranging fields to suit your needs.

Adding or removing fields is easy and can make your work in Entourage more efficient by displaying only the fields you commonly use.

NOTE: This option is not available if the Preview pane is turned on. If you would like to select the fields for display but are unable to access the Columns menu, turn off the Preview pane from the View menu by selecting Preview Pane » None.

  1. From the Navigation pane, click MAILMail button

  2. From the View menu, select Columns » select or deselect the desired field
    NOTE: A field is selected and displayed when a checkmark appears next to a field's name.

  3. Repeat step 2 as necessary

Rearranging fields is as simple as clicking and dragging, and allows you to organize them in a way that is more meaningful to you.

NOTE: The Online Status, Message Status, Priority, and Attachment fields cannot be moved by clicking and dragging, but will move if another field is placed before or between them.

  1. From the Navigation pane, click MAILMail button

  2. Click and hold the field heading to be moved
    View fields

  3. Drag the field heading to the desired location
    A dotted line appears between the fields where the field will be moved as you drag over the window.

  4. Release the mouse button
    The field is moved.
