print Document Properties dialog box: Finishing tab

Document Options
Allows you to set the number of pages to print per sheet. If you choose to print more than one page per sheet of paper, you can also select the order in which to print the pages and whether to show a border around each page.

Orientation
Allows you to select options for page positioning on the paper. You can select Portrait to print the pages in a vertical fashion on the paper, or Landscape to print the document horizontally on the paper. Rotate by 180 degrees will flip the pages 180 degrees on the paper.

return to topEffects Options

Effects options in the Document Properties dialog box allow you to add a watermark to your document, specify the paper size you will be using, and decide the size at which the pages will print on the paper. The options you select are reflected on the thumbnail preview in the upper-right hand corner of the dialog box.

print Document Properties dialog box: Effects tab

Resizing Options
Allows you to specify page size as the document prints on the paper. If your publication was not created on the same size paper that you have selected, you have the Print document on pull-down list, which allows you to print the best fit of your publication on the paper you chose. Another zoom option available is % of actual size; you select the percentage size at which your publication will print. Actual size is the default option and will not resize the document.

Watermarks
Allows you to superimpose a watermark (e.g., Confidential) on your PDF document when printing. You can choose to add it to the first page only.

return to topPaper/Quality Options

The Paper/Quality options in the Document Properties dialog box allow you to choose the size, source, and type of paper you will be using to print your document. The options you select are reflected on the thumbnail preview in the upper-right hand corner of the dialog box.

print Document Properties dialog box: Paper/Quality tab

Paper Options
From the Paper sizes pull-down list, you can tell the printer what size of paper you are using. Because some paper sizes only fit in certain trays on the printer, you can use the Paper source pull-down list to specify a tray the printer should pull paper from. The Paper type pull-down list allows you to alter special printer settings in order to accommodate various types of paper.

Print Quality
Allows you to set print quality. You could use a lower quality (e.g., 600 dpi) for drafts or everyday printing and use a higher quality setting for final or public drafts. To print a draft that appears lighter and uses less ink, select EconoMode.

NOTES:
The Paper type pull-down list will only alter settings on some printers.
You can make further selections for special settings using the Special pages entry box and SETTINGS... button.
