Snipping Tool Options
Windows Vista's Snipping Tool provides options for you to customize your Snipping Tool experience.

Accessing the Snipping Tool Options Dialog Box
The Snipping Tool provides several options to help you customize how you use the application.

Click OPTIONS
The Snipping Tool Options dialog box appears.
Understanding the Snipping Tool Options
The following table provides explanations to the options the Snipping Tool Options dialog box provides.
Hide instruction text
Toggles whether instructional text will appear
NOTE: The text appears below the Snipping Tool dialog box's buttons.
Always copy snips to the Clipboard
Toggles whether the image can be pasted into other programs after it is captured
HINT: Paste the capture with [Ctrl] + [V].
Include URL below snips (HTML only)
Toggles whether, when capturing online images, the URL of the image you've captured will be included in the capture
Prompt to save snips before exiting
Toggles whether, after attempting to close the Snipping Tool without saving a capture, a confirmation dialog box will appear
Display icon in the Quick Launch toolbar
Toggles whether the Snipping Tool will have a shortcut included in the Microsoft Vista Taskbar
HINT: The Quick Launch toolbar appears to the left of the START button.
Show screen overlay when Snipping Tool is active
Toggles whether any screen fading will occur when using the Snipping Tool
Ink color
Provides a pull-down list for selecting the desired border color when capturing images
Show selection ink after snips are captured
Toggles whether the selected ink color will appear in the snip after it is captured
