Connecting to Network Drives

In addition to saving documents to the H: drive, you now have the option of saving work to a network drive. Department and specialty drives provide workspace for many users. Use of these drives is made available by department and/or workgroup. In order to access the drive(s), you must connect to it. Windows refers to this as mapping a network drive.

Letters shown for Drive are recommended. In most cases other letters will work. Folders are identified by first the name of the server (e.g., sgs1) and then the name of the share (i.e., the portion allocated to that user group).

NOTE: In the case of student and faculty H drives, the user groups have been divided according to the first letter of the last name. That determines which server they will connect to.
