The WebSurvey System allows you to export the results of your survey in a format that allows further analysis. This document describes the export options available and how to export the results of your survey.
The WebSurvey System offers numerous options when exporting the results of your survey. These allow you to select the format and fields that will make for easy and efficient analysis of your data.
A text export results in a file that can be opened in Excel. Respondent answers are in text format. For example, responses to a Yes/No question appear as Yes or No.
Standard Text Export
Responses are in rows by respondent. In other words, each row represents one completed survey. In this format, it is easy to filter or sort on a particular question.

Alternative Text Export
Each response is in its own row. For example, if the first question of your survey asked for the respondent’s name and you had 15 responses, the first 15 rows after the column headings would show the names of your respondents. Then, the responses to question 2 would begin. In this format it is easy to copy or view all responses to an open-ended question. You can also filter by question or response ID

A numeric export results in a file that can be opened in Excel and is suitable for other analysis software such as SPSS. Responses are in rows by respondent. In other words, each row represents one completed survey. Responses are in numeric format. For example, responses to a Yes/No question appear as 1 or 2.

If you choose a numeric export, you will need to export the legend as well. In the example just mentioned, the legend tells you that 1 = yes and 2 = no.

All of these fields except for Username and IP Address are captured automatically and can be exported along with the responses to your survey. In order to export the Username or IP Address, you have to have set up your survey to capture this information.
Your survey must have been set up to capture this information in order for you to select it for export.
If you created hidden fields in your survey, you can select them for export.
The results export file is a .csv file that can be opened in Excel.
NOTES:
For surveys with multiple pages, export results include responses for incomplete surveys.
You can not export survey results while a filter is active. For information on working with or deactivating filters, refer to Using Filters.
