WebSurvey offers two options for restricting responses which can be used separately or together. One option is to create a list of people who are allowed to complete the survey and another is to accept responses only from specific IP addresses (computer addresses).
From the My Surveys page, for your survey, click OPTIONS![]()
The Survey Options page appears.
This document covers the following topics:
You can create a list of people or use a predefined distribution list to specify who may take your survey. In order to use this feature, you must select one of the Login Required options (1, 2, 3, or 6) for a Respondent Access Level.

In the Access List text box you can type up to 50 usernames or distribution lists. If using distribution lists, you must use the pre-defined distribution lists found in the Global Address book.
EXAMPLE: In the example above, the survey would be available to only the students and instructors in these three sections of Accounting 201.
Specifying an IP Address Range will limit respondents to using computers with IP addresses within that range. For example, you could limit respondents to a specific computer lab. Respondents who attempt to complete the survey on a computer that is not in this list will not be allowed to take the survey.

EXAMPLE: In the example below, the survey would be available only to respondents using computers having an IP address within the range 120-160 (last three digits).
