Macintosh: Using the Document Banner Templates

A document banner has been developed to assist individuals using the wordmark and seal. Two templates with the banner are available for use on your computer.

  1. Open Microsoft Word

  2. From the File menu, select Project Gallery...

  3. In the Category scroll box, select UWEC Templates

  4. Select either UWEC Doc Banner OR UWEC Doc Banner Header as appropriate

  5. Click OK
    The file will appear on your screen ready for you to begin creating your file.

When downloading the template, it is recommended that you save it to your templates directory. This will give you easier access to the templates. For machines tested, the default location was:
 
Hard drive / UWEC Software / Microsoft Office / Templates

To check your templates location:

  1. Open Microsoft Word

  2. From the Edit menu, select Preferences...

  3. Select the File Locations tab

  4. Note the location for User templates
    If the entire location cannot be read, 

    1. To note the full location, click MODIFY... 

    2. When done, click CANCEL

  5. Click OK

Downloading the Templates: Netscape

  1. While holding down the [Option] key click the link for the template you want

  2. Release the [Option] key
    The Save As dialog box appears.

  3. If necessary, change the location where the file will be saved

  4. If desired, adjust the filename

  5. Click SAVE

Downloading the Templates: Internet Explorer

  1. Click and hold the link for the template you want 

  2. From the submenu, select Download Link to Disk
    The Save dialog box appears.

  3. If necessary, change the location where the file will be saved

  4. If desired, adjust the filename

  5. Click SAVE
