TreeSize Professional 4.0

Using TreeSize Professional

You can use TreeSize Professional to obtain information about the drives you are connected to by performing a scan. You can then decide whether to relocate or delete files as a way of managing drive space.

  1. From the Start menu, select All Programs » Utilities » TreeSize Professional 4.0
    The Tree Size Professional dialog box appears.

return to topScanning a Drive

To view the contents of a drive you can perform a scan. The scan will take a minute or so depending on the size of the drive. The results will be displayed in the Results pane.

Scanning a Drive: TreeSize Professional Option

  1. Open TreeSize Professional

  2. In the Drive Combo Box, select a drive letter Drive combo box
    To connect to a drive,
    1. From the Tools menu » select CONNECT NETWORK DRIVEConnect network drive button

    2. Refer to Mapping a Network Drive instructions, and start with step # 2

  3. Click SCAN SELECTED DRIVEScan selected drive button
    Results of the scan appear in the Results pane.

Scanning a Drive: Windows Explorer Option

  1. Open Windows Explorer

  2. Right click any drive or folder

  3. Click TreeSize Professional 4
    Results of the scan appear in the Results pane.

TreeSize offers different options to display files and view scan results.

  1. Scan the desired drive

  2. To change the file display, click an option button: File Display Attributes Toolbar

  3. To change the Results pane view, click one of the view buttons: View selection buttons

  4. To view the details of a folder or file,
    1. Click DETAILSDetails button
    2. In the Navigation pane, select the desired folder
    3. In the Results pane, double-click the file
      The file will open in the application which created it.

You can easily delete files from the Details view.

  1. Scan the desired drive

  2. Click DETAILSDetails button

  3. In the Navigation pane, select the desired folder

  4. In the Results pane, right click the file » select Delete
    A confirmation dialog box appears.

  5. Click YES
    The selected filed is deleted.
