Look & Feel Options
After you have created a survey, The Qualtrics Survey System provides ways to format the survey's style. It allows you to customize the fonts, colors, and style of your survey. This option provides template formats that can be applied to any survey. A user can format the headers and footers, the ways to keep track of progress in the survey, can change the background layout of the survey and select how many questions a user desires per page. The following features will be explained in this document:
Accessing the Look & Feel Dialog Box
Before you can edit a survey, you must first activate the survey.
- From the My Survey's tab, for the desired survey, click EDIT

The survey opens on the Edit Survey tab.
- Click LOOK & FEEL

The Survey Look and Feel dialog box appears.
Adding Headers and Footers
Headers and footers allow information to be added to the survey at the top of each page (header) or the bottom of each page (footer).
- Access the Look and Feel dialog box
- To add a header,
- In the Header text box, type the desired text
- To format the text, click EDIT
The Edit Header dialog box appears.
- Highlight the text and make desired changes
- Click SAVE
You are returned to the Survey Look and Feel dialog box.
- Click SAVE CHANGES
Your changes have been added.
- To add a footer,
- In the Footer text box, type the desired text
- To format the text, click EDIT
The Edit Footer dialog box appears.
- Highlight the text and make desired changes
- Click SAVE
You are returned to the Survey Look and Feel dialog box.
- Click SAVE CHANGES
Your changes have been added.
- To preview your changes click PREVIEW SURVEY

Modifying Button Options
The three button options allow you to change the text displayed on the navigation buttons in your survey. Next and Previous allow a user to go forward and back in their survey. The Progress bar displays how much of the survey has been completed.
- Access the Look and Feel dialog box
- In the Next Button Text text box, type the text to display on the button
Example: Type NEXT
- In the Previous Button Text text box, type the text to display on the button
Example: Type BACK
- To display a progress bar to respondents, from the Progress Bar pull-down menu, select a desired option
NOTES:
None displays nothing on your survey's progress
With text displays 0% to 100% on either side of the progress bar
Without text displays a progress bar with no percentage shown
With Verbose text displays 0% to 100% in larger text so that it is more noticeable and titles the progress as Survey Completion
- Click SAVE CHANGES

Changes have been made to your survey.
- To preview your changes, click PREVIEW SURVEY

Changing the Appearance of Your Survey
A user can select different templates to change the appearance of a survey. Some looks are more business like, while others are color orientated, depending on the user's preference. Using the Survey Look and Feel dialog box allows a user to select a template from Qualtrics.
- Access the Look and Feel dialog box
- In the Type: text box, select how you want your survey's questions displayed,
NOTES:
To display one question per page, select One question per page
To display multiple questions per page, select Multiple questions per page
- To apply a Qualtrics look, using the scroll bar, locate and select a desired look
To apply the UW-Eau Claire look, from the Look and Feel Library pull-down menu, select University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire
The UW-Eau Claire look is selected.
- Click SAVE CHANGES

Changes have been made to your survey.
- To preview your changes, click PREVIEW SURVEY
