Animation refers to the movement and sound accompanying text or slides as they are introduced. Using animation with your bulleted lists and slides can often add excitement to your presentation by displaying text at crucial moments and making smooth transitions between topics. You can use preset animations or customize your own animation to achieve your goals. You can add animation while in the Normal or Slide Sorter views.
This option allows you to apply animation to elements on your slide including the title, bulleted text, and objects. These options are specific to Normal view.
With your presentation open, from the View menu, select Normal
Select the slide to which you want to apply animation
Within the slide, select the first item you want to animate
From the Formatting Palette, in the Animation pane, click CUSTOMIZE...
The Custom Animation window appears.
In the Entry animation and sound sections, make the desired selections
In the Exit Animation and sound sections, make the desired selections
To preview the animation, click PLAY
To remove animation, select No Effect
Click OK
OPTIONAL: Repeat steps 2-8 for each slide to which you want to apply animation
This option allows you to add animation as you move from one slide to the next. These options are specific to the Slide Sorter view.
With your presentation open, from the View menu, select Slide Sorter
The Slide Sorter toolbar appears.
NOTE: If the Slide Sorter toolbar is not displayed, from the View menu, select Toolbars » Slide Sorter.
Select the slide to which you want to apply animation
On the Slide Sorter toolbar, from the Slide Transition Effects pull-down list, select the animation you wish to use
The animation will preview over the slide.
OPTIONAL: Repeat steps 2-3 for each slide to which you want to apply animation
To remove animation, select No Transition
