In Outlook 2007, an Event is an appointment extending beyond 24 hours such as a trade show or a vacation. Events can be scheduled in two forms: Recurring and single. A single Event happens only the first time it is scheduled. A Recurring Event, such as a birthday or anniversary, repeats on certain days based on parameters you set. Events and Recurring Events do not occupy blocks of time in Calendar; instead, they appear in banners.
