You can add holidays and events from a UW-Eau Claire Academic Calendar to your Outlook Calendar.
NOTES:
Outlook for Macintosh and Outlook Webmail do not support the addition of these items. However, users of those programs can add holiday/event items in Outlook from a Windows machine. The holidays/events can then be viewed from Outlook for Macintosh or Outlook Webmail.
Calendar items such as holidays and UW-Eau Claire academic events are generated from a holiday file within Outlook. As recurring items, the holidays recur each year for which the file holds information. If you are not seeing current holidays or UW-Eau Claire Academic Calendar items, you will need to download the updated holiday file.
Right click this link: Outlook Calendar Update
Select Save Target As...
Using the Save in pull-down list, navigate to c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\1033
Click SAVE
Your Outlook Calendar does not display holidays by default. If you would like to display U.S. holidays or another country's holidays, you can add them to your calendar. You can also add the UW-Eau Claire Academic Calendar events to your calendar.
From the Tools menu, select Options...
The Options dialog box appears.
Select the Preferences tab
Under Calendar, click CALENDAR OPTIONS...
The Calendar Options dialog box appears.
Under Calendar options, click ADD HOLIDAYS...
The Add Holidays to Calendar dialog box appears.
To add the holidays of a specific country to your calendar, select the country(ies)
EXAMPLE: Select United States
NOTES:
You can select more than one item. An item is selected if there is a check in the box before its name.
If you are not seeing current holidays, you will need to download the updated holiday file.
To add one of the UW-Eau Claire Academic Year Calendars, select the appropriate year(s)
EXAMPLE: Select UWEC 2004-2005 Academic Calendar
NOTES:
You can select more than one item. An item is selected if there is a check in the box before its name.
If you are not seeing UW-Eau Claire Academic Calendar items, you will need to download the updated holiday file.

For any countries that were selected prior to this addition, you will be asked if those holidays should be imported again; click NO
Click OK
Click OK
You may want to remove holidays from your calendar for any number of reasons. For example, while exploring Outlook's Calendar options, you may have installed the holidays of a country out of curiosity and now no longer want them to appear on your calendar. Or, as is more often the case, you may have installed the U.S. holidays more than once and now have duplicate entries.
Open your Calendar
Select the holiday
Holidays appear just under the date.
On the Outlook toolbar, click DELETE![]()
This option works well if you have added the holidays of another country and no longer want them to appear on your calendar.
Open your Calendar
From the View menu, select Arrange By » Current View » Events
To sort the Events by location, click the Location header
Select all of the holidays for the country
HINTS:
To select contiguous items, click the first item, then press [Shift] and click the last item. All items in between are selected.
To select noncontiguous items, click the first item, then press [Ctrl] as you click additional items.
Click DELETE
This option works well to remove duplicates. However, keep in mind that holidays are recurring events. Therefore, Thanksgiving will appear for multiple years (e.g., 2003, 2004, etc.). When deleting duplicates, make sure you are deleting an item for the correct year. You have the option of deleting all items in the Holiday category and starting over by adding the holidays and academic calendars you want. Remember, any Calendar entry that you have assigned to the category of Holidays appears in this list.
Open your Calendar
From the View menu, select Arrange By » Current View » By Category
To expand the Holiday category, click the + in front of it
Select the items that you want to remove
OR
To select all holiday items, select the Holiday category
WARNINGS:
Any Calendar entry that you have made and assigned to the category of Holidays will be included.
If you select all items by pressing [Ctrl] + [A], all Calendar items will be selected. If you accidentally delete them, retrieve them from your Deleted Items folder immediately.
Click DELETE
NOTE: If you selected the Holiday category, you may receive an error message regarding low memory. You can click OK.
