There are many settings in AutoArchive which can be easily modified. These settings include how often AutoArchive runs and the location to which expired items are saved. AutoArchive also gives you the option to delete expired items. Customization of the AutoArchive settings must be done on a folder-by-folder basis.
You may want to change the interval at which Outlook AutoArchives your folders. Frequently, the default settings are not appropriate to your needs.
In the Folder list, right click the folder in which you want to adjust the settings » select Properties
The Properties dialog box corresponding to the folder you selected appears.
Select the AutoArchive tab

Select Archive this folder using these settings
In the Clean out items older than text box, type or use the nudge buttons to indicate the appropriate number
From the Clean out items older than pull-down list, select the appropriate unit of time
Click OK
You may want to modify the action that AutoArchive performs on the selected items by either changing the folder where the messages are archived or deleting the messages.
NOTE: The C: drive is not an appropriate location for archived files. It is recommended that you select a location on your H: drive.
In the Folder list, right click the folder in which you want to adjust the settings » select Properties
