When using Webmail, the Contacts feature offers additional options for you to use. These include customizing your Contacts folders, displaying a map of a Contact's address, and saving attachments to Contact profiles.
When you create a Contact, Outlook automatically saves it in the Contacts folder. However, when you have several Contacts in an unordered list, finding an individual Contact may become difficult. To help you organize your Contacts, you can create folders to simplify the search process.
From the Outlook Navigation pane, click CONTACTS![]()
The Contacts screen appears.
Click MANAGE CONTACTS FOLDERS...
The screen refreshes.
In the Create New Contact Folder section, in the Folder name text box, type a name for the new folder
Click CREATE
The new folder is created.
Inserting Contacts into Contacts folders is easy. If the folder doesn't already exist, create the Contact folder to which you will add Contacts.
From the Outlook Navigation pane, click CONTACTS![]()
The Contacts screen appears.
From the Contacts Folders list, select the folder that currently contains your Contact
NOTE: The default folder is Contacts.
From the Contacts list, select the Contact you want to move
The Contact is selected when a checkmark appears before it.
Click MOVE![]()
The screen refreshes.
From the Move to Contact Folder section, in the Move to pull-down list, select the desired folder
Click MOVE
The Contact moves to the selected folder.
From the Outlook Navigation pane, click CONTACTS![]()
The Contacts screen appears.
Click MANAGE CONTACTS FOLDERS...
The screen refreshes.
From the Rename Contact Folder section, in the Current Name pull-down list, select the appropriate folder
In the New name text box, type a new name for the folder
Click RENAME
The folder is renamed.
From the Outlook Navigation pane, click CONTACTS![]()
The Contacts screen appears.
Click MANAGE CONTACTS FOLDERS...
The screen refreshes.
In the Delete Folder group, from the Folder name pull-down list, select the folder to delete
Click DELETE
The folder and its contents are moved to the Deleted Items folder.
If you know the address of your Contact, Outlook provides a mapping feature to display directions to a Contact's address.
NOTE: Be sure that the Contact's profile includes an address. To add an address, refer to Editing a Contact.
From the Outlook Navigation pane, click CONTACTS![]()
The Contacts screen appears.
From the Contact Folders list, select the folder for your Contact
NOTE: The default folder is Contacts.
Select the Contact for which you want to display a map
The screen refreshes to display the Contact.
In the Address section, for the appropriate address (e.g., Home, Business), click MAP THIS ADDRESS...
A new window appears displaying a map of the Contact's address.
Adding an attachment to a Contact is useful when you want to provide more information than the Contact profile offers (e.g., resumes, project proposals).
From the Outlook Navigation pane, click CONTACTS![]()
The Contacts screen appears.
From the Contact Folders list, select the folder for your Contact
NOTE: The default folder is Contacts.
Click the Contact for which you want to attach a file
The screen refreshes to display the Contact's profile.
On the toolbar, click EDIT CONTACT![]()
In the Notes section, click ATTACHMENTS...
The screen refreshes.
On the left task pane, click CHOOSE FILE
A dialog box appears.
Navigate to and select the file you want to attach
Click CHOOSE
The file appears in the task pane.
OPTIONAL: To attach more files, repeat steps 6–8
Click ATTACH
When finished, click DONE![]()
The attachments are saved.
From the Outlook sidebar, click CONTACTS![]()
The Contacts screen appears.
From the Contact Folders list, select the folder with your Contact
NOTE: The default folder is Contacts.
Click the Contact for which you want to attach a file
The screen refreshes to display the Contact's profile.
On the toolbar, click EDIT CONTACT![]()
In the Notes section, click ATTACHMENTS...
The screen refreshes.
From the Attachments list, select the attachment you want to delete
The attachment is selected when a checkmark appears before it.
Click REMOVE![]()
The attachment is removed.
