Installing Updates for the Extended Daylight Savings Time Period

Updating your personal Macintosh computer will prevent any confusion caused by changes to Daylight Savings Time (DST). This document provides instructions for applying the updates based on which version of the operating system you have.

An update has been made available to you from Apple.

  1. From the Apple menu, select Software Update
A list of available updates appears.

  2. Install all of the updates that are selected by default (even if they do not pertain to DST)
They are likely updates to the system software that patch security problems or correct system inconsistencies.

  3. After you have installed the updates, run DST update again
This ensures that there are not any new items that have become available because they were contingent on other updates being applied first.

  2. In the Systems Preferences window, select Date and Time
