The Standard Buttons Toolbar

The Standard Buttons toolbar is used for accomplishing various navigational tasks.

If the toolbar is not displayed:

  1. From the View menu, select Toolbars » Standard Buttons
    The Standard Buttons toolbar appears.

Each of the buttons on the Standard Buttons toolbar is briefly described below. Depending on your setup, these options may be slightly different.

Button Description
Back button Returns to the site previously visited.
NOTE: Clicking the small down arrow will give you a list of the sites you have accessed; select the one you wish to return to.
Forward button After returning to a site with the BACK button, you can use the FORWARD button to return to more recent sites.

Stop button Stops loading the current page. This is useful if the page seems to have "stalled" or there are large images on the page.
Refresh button Retrieves the most recent version of the page. This is useful for web publishers making changes to their pages and for web users who suspect they are viewing an older version of the page.
Home button Displays the page specified as the home page. For most UW-Eau Claire users this will be the University homepage.
Search button Displays the search panel, giving you access to the Google search engine.
Favorites button Displays the Favorites panel, giving you easy access to your favorite sites.
Media button Displays the Media panel, giving you access to media links and Windows Media Player
History button Displays the History panel, listing sites you've visited in the recent past.
Mail button Provides options for emailing the current page.
NOTE: Options may vary based on your individual setup.
Print button Prints the current page.
Edit Page button Allows you to edit the current page in a web editor.
Discussion button Activates the Discussion toolbar.
