Refreshing Pages

When developing web pages or working with web-based tools (e.g., Desire2Learn), it can be frustrating when the screen does not reflect your most recent updates and/or changes. Usually, refreshing your browser (reloading the page) will display changes and new pages.  Internet Explorer supports two refresh options: manual and automatic.

Automatic page refresh increases the amount of network traffic because each time a page is accessed, it must connect to the server to confirm the page information. With a manual page refresh, network traffic is minimize because you request the update when you need it.
