This document contains general information regarding the Internet Explorer 6 environment. Taking a moment to review the following sections will allow you to move through Internet Explorer with ease.
The following graphic represents the basic parts of the Internet Explorer 6 environment. As with many other Windows-based programs there are menus and toolbars along with a window displaying the active feature.
Internet Explorer offers three main toolbars, the Standard Buttons toolbar, the Address bar, and the Links toolbar. The Standard Buttons toolbar is used for navigational tasks as well as allowing easy access to common features such as Favorites and History. The Address bar is used when you already know the web address (URL) of the site you want to visit. The Links toolbar is used to save web pages that you want to revisit.
HINT: If you are unsure at any time about what a specific button on a toolbar does, you can hold your pointer over that button and a description box will appear.
From the View menu, select Toolbars » the toolbar you would like displayed
(e.g. Standard Buttons, Address Bar, Links)
