Changing Your Default Browser

Depending on your preferences and needs, your current default browser may not be meeting your needs. The following instructions walk you through changing your default browser.

  1. Open Windows Explorer

  2. From the Tools menu, select Folder Options...
    The Folder Options dialog box appears.

  3. Select the File Types tab

  4. From the list select HTM

  5. Click CHANGE...

  6. From the Open with listing of programs, select Netscape Navigator

  7. Click OK

  8. From the list select HTML

  9. Click CHANGE...

  10. From the Open with listing of programs, select Netscape Navigator

  11. Click OK

  12. Click OK
    Netscape is now your default browser.

  1. Open Internet Explorer

  2. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options...
    The Internet Options dialog box appears.

  3. Select the Programs tab

  4. Click the box before Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default

  5. Close Internet Explorer

  6. Reopen Internet Explorer

  7. Click YES to make default
    Internet Explorer is now your default browser.

  1. Open Windows Explorer

  2. From the Tools menu, select Folder Options...
    The Folder Options dialog box appears.

  3. Select the File Types tab

  4. From the list select HTM

  5. Click CHANGE...

  6. From the Open with listing select the browser of your choice

  7. Click OK

  8. From the list select HTML

  9. Click CHANGE...

  10. From the Open with listing select the browser of your choice

  11. Click OK

  12. Click OK

  13. Test by double clicking on web document or link to a web document.
