Printing Web Pages

Internet Explorer 7 makes printing web pages easy. The Print Preview in combination with the Print dialog box can help you print a document that meets your needs. This document describes the following:

Before printing a web page, you may want to preview how the page will look and to determine how many pages will print.

  1. Navigate to the web page you would like to print

  2. From the Command toolbar, click thePrint arrownext to PRINT » select Print Preview...
    The Print Preview window appears.

  3. To change the appearance of the preview, click the appropriate button

    Option
    Icon
    Function
    Previous Page
    		Previous Page Previews the page of your document immediately preceding the page that is currently shown
    Next Page
    		Next Page Previews the page of your document immediately following the page that is currently shown
    Show Multiple Pages
    		View Multiple Pages pull-down list Allows you to view more than one page of the document at one time
    View Full Page
    		View Full Page button Shrinks the page view so the entire web page appears in the Print Preview window
    View Full Width
    		View Full Width button Expands the page view so its width fills the entire Print Preview window
    Page Setup
    		Page Setup button Accesses the Page Setup dialog box where you can adjust page size, orientation, headers and footers, and margins.
    Portrait
    		 Portrait button Displays the page in portrait mode (the page is longer than it is wide)
    Landscape
    		 Landscape button Displays the page in landscape mode (the page is wider than it is long)

  4. To return to the browser without printing, click CLOSEClose button

If you would like to print an entire web page and allow Internet Explorer to automatically select its printing options, the Quick Print option will print your document without bringing up the Print dialog box.

  1. Open the web page that you would like to print

  2. From the Command toolbar, click PRINTPrint button
    The page(s) print.

If you would like to manually control the printing options for your pages, you will need to open the Print dialog box before printing. This dialog box is available by right-clicking or from either the Print Preview screen or the File menu.

  1. Navigate to the web page you would like to print

  2. Right click within the page » select Print...
    The Print dialog box appears.

  1. From the Command toolbar, click thePrint arrownext to PRINT » select Print Preview...
    The Print Preview window appears.

  2. Click PRINTPrint button
    The Print dialog box appears.

By default, menus do not appear in Internet Explorer 7. You will need to display menus for this option to work.

  1. If menus are not displayed, from the Command toolbar, click TOOLSTools button» select Menu Bar
    Menus appear above the Links bar.

  2. From the File menu, select Print...
    The Print dialog box appears.

Printing from the Print Dialog Box

Printing from the Print dialog box allows you to select various print options such as which pages to print and number of copies to print. For more information on customizing your printed web pages, refer to Printing Options.

  1. Access the Print dialog box

  2. In the General tab, within the Page Range section, select the desired option

  3. In the Select Printer section, verify the printer selection

  4. In the Number of copies section, select the appropriate number of copies

  5. Click PRINT
    The page(s) prints.
