Electronic Directories: User Instructions

Electronic directories are designed to help you locate names, email addresses, mailing addresses, and phone numbers. They are available from different both the UW-Eau Claire website and Outlook directory services. These sources are updated daily to reflect changes to the administrative mainframe based on changes in the student and personnel databases. The following instructions focus on these three directories and assume you are somewhat comfortable with the basics of each program.

The UW-Eau Claire homepage (http://www.uwec.edu) provides a list of primary administrative contacts and one directory service option to help you locate a student, staff, or faculty member. The following directions will guide you through the steps necessary to use the UW-Eau Claire homepage directory.

  1. From the UW-Eau Claire homepage, in the Navigation pane on the left side of the page, click DIRECTORY INFORMATION

  2. On the Directory information page, select Campus directory search (online phonebook)

  3. In the appropriate text box(es), type the information that you know about the person you are looking for

  4. Click SEARCH

  5. If a list of names appears, locate the appropriate entry
    If there are no matches, try again with different information.

  6. OPTIONAL: To view detailed information about a particular entry, click the person's UW-Eau Claire Username

Faculty and staff using the Outlook client have access to the AutoStaff listing. This searchable listing is updated daily and contains the same information as the UW-Eau Claire printed and electronic directories. For additional information, refer to the AutoStaff documentation.
