The title of a web page is used to identify browser bookmarks, is used by search engines to locate pages, and makes pages more accessible for all users. It is important to have a descriptive title. If you are developing pages for a course, you may want to include the course number, UWEC, and a description of the page (e.g., English 110, UWEC, Syllabus.)
From the File menu, select Properties...
The Page Properties dialog box appears.
Select the General tab
In the Title text box, type the desired title
Click OK
To save a web page, you must give the page a filename. The filename is the name of the page as it appears in your operating system. Web pages require an .htm or .html file extension. This is essential for the web browser to identify your file as a web page. For more information, refer to Naming Files & Understanding URLs in the UWEC Web Development Tools series.
From the File menu, select Save As...
The Save As dialog box appears.
If necessary, change the save location
In the File name text box, type the desired filename
NOTE: The filename must have an .htm or .html extension.
EXAMPLE: Type mydoc.html
Click SAVE
