Setting Up an Account

The emailing system Microsoft Entourage is the Macintosh equivalent of Microsoft Outlook for Windows. This document explains how to access Entourage and how to use the Setup Assistant to set up your email account.

These instructions explain how to access Entourage.

  1. From the Dock, click ENTOURAGEEntourage icon

Once you have accessed Entourage, you will have to configure an account.

Configuring an Account Manually

  1. From the Tools menu, select Accounts
    The Accounts dialog box appears.

  2. Next to NEWNew account button, click the DOWN buttonDown Arrow button» select Exchange...
    The Account Setup Assistant dialog box appears.

  3. In the E-mail address text box, type your existing email address

  4. Select My account is on an Exchange server
    The dialog box refreshes to reflect the selected option.
    NOTES:
    All University email accounts are on an exchange server.
    A check appears in the box next to it when it is selected.

  5. In the User ID text box, type your username

  6. In the Domain text box, type UWEC

  7. In the Password text box, type your password

  8. Click CONFIGURE ACCOUNT MANUALLY

  9. Select the Account Settings tab

  10. In the Account name text box, type the desired account name
    NOTE: The Account name appears at the top of the Folder list in Entourage.

  11. Select Save password in my Mac OS keychain
    NOTE: A check mark appears when the option is selected.

  12. In the Exchange Server text box, type https://webmail.uwec.edu

  13. Select the Advanced Settings tab

  14. In the Public Folders Server text box, type cherrypepsi/public

  15. In the LDAP Server text box, type bacon

  16. Click OK
    NOTES:
    The Enter account ID and password dialog box appears.

  17. Type the appropriate information and click OK
    Entourage begins to update all of your email files, which may take several minutes.

  18. Close the Accounts dialog box

Configuring an Account Automatically

  1. From the Tools menu, select Accounts
    The Accounts dialog box appears.

  2. Click NEWNew account button
    The Account Setup Assistant dialog box appears.

  3. In the E-mail address text box, type your existing email address

  4. Select My account is on an Exchange server
    The dialog refreshes to reflect the selected option.
    NOTES:
    All University email accounts are on an exchange server.
    A check appears in the box next to it when it is selected.

  5. In the User ID text box, type your username

  6. In the Domain text box, type UWEC

  7. In the Password text box, type your password

  8. Click NEXT Right arrow
    A dialog box appears indicating whether the configuration succeeded.

  9. Click NEXT
    The Verify and Complete Settings dialog box appears.

  10. Verify the information

  11. Click NEXT
    A dialog box appears asking if you want to verify account settings.

  12. Click VERIFY MY SETTINGS
    Your account settings are verified.

  13. Click NEXT
    A dialog box appears informing you setup is complete.

  14. In the Account name text box, type the desired account name
    NOTE: The Account name appears at the top of the Folder list in Entourage.

  15. Click FINISH

  16. Click OK
    NOTES:
    The Enter account ID and password dialog box appears.

  17. Type the appropriate information and click OK
    Entourage begins to update all of your email files, which may take several minutes.

  18. Close the Accounts dialog box
