The contacts found in your Address Book provide a means for you to store information (name, address, phone, email, etc.) about individuals that you communicate with regularly. By assigning contacts to categories, you can organize related individuals into groups. This document explains how to assign contacts to categories.
NOTE: For more information on how to create and edit categories, refer to Calendars & Categories.
You can assign categories to every contact in your Address Book.
From the Navigation Pane, click ADDRESS BOOK
From the Address Book list, double click the desired contact
The Contacts dialog box appears.

From the Contacts toolbar, click CATEGORIES![]()
The Assign Categories dialog box appears.

Select the desired category(ies) you wish the contact to be assigned with
NOTES:
You can select multiple categories.
A category is selected when a checkmark appears before it.
Click OK
From the Contacts dialog box, on the Contacts toolbar, click SAVE ![]()
The contact will be assigned with the selected category(ies).
From the Navigation Pane, click ADDRESS BOOK ![]()
From the Address Book list, press [control] and click the desired contact
Select Categories » the desired category
NOTES:
You can select more than one category by repeating steps 2 and 3.
A category is selected when a checkmark appears before it.
It is helpful to assign new entries with categories as you create them in your Address Book.
From the File menu, select New » Contact
The Create Contact dialog box appears.
Complete the desired text boxes
HINT: To move between fields, press [tab].
Click MORE
The Contacts dialog box appears.

From the Contact toolbar, click CATEGORIES![]()
The Assign Categories dialog box appears.

Select the desired category(ies) you wish the contact to be assigned with
