A Task is a "to-do" item for which you have the option of setting both a due date and a reminder. This document explains how to create and view Tasks. For more information on how to change a Task, refer to Modifying Events & Tasks.
Tasks can be easily created using Entourage. The following section provides instructions on how to create Tasks.
From the Navigation pane, click TASKS![]()
From the File menu, select New » Task
OR
Press [Command] + [N]
OR
From the Tasks toolbar, click NEW![]()
An untitled Task dialog box appears.
In the Task text box, type the name of the task
This name will appear as the title of the Task dialog box as you type.
Select the appropriate date
Use the up and down arrows to select a time when you would like to be reminded
OPTIONAL: From the Priority pull-down list, select a desired priority designation for the task
OPTIONAL: From the Occurs pull-down list, select a desired occurring frequency for the task

OPTIONAL: In the Notes text box, type notes or a description about the task
Click SAVE![]()
Close the Task dialog box
Scheduling a Recurring Task is much like scheduling a new Task. For more information on how to create new tasks, refer to Creating Tasks.
Complete steps 1-6 of Creating Tasks
From the Occurs pull-down list, select the desired occurring frequency
The dialog box refreshes.
Click EDIT...
The Recurring Task dialog box appears.

In the Recurrence Pattern section, select the appropriate settings
In the Start and End section, select the appropriate settings
Click OK
Click SAVE![]()
Close the Task dialog box
Tasks can be viewed using the Calendar feature, but can also be seen alone in the Task feature of Entourage.
From the Navigation pane, click CALENDAR![]()
If it is not displayed, from the Calendar menu, select Task Pane
The Calendar appears with the Task list on the right.
From the Navigation pane, click TASKS![]()
The Task list appears.
