If you have already copied the components from your previous course, here is a checklist of items you can use to ensure that all information regarding your new course is as accurate as possible. If you have not copied the components from your previous course, please see Copying Components of a Course
Double check that everything copied over from the previous course correctly.
Change all dates in your course calendar.
Adjust the course start and/or end dates, if necessary.
Change any release dates/times to the current semester’s schedule (e.g. Quizzes, Content, Dropbox and Discussions).
Change any release conditions (other than time/date). For example, restricting discussions by group membership.
Repopulate small groups using the enrollment tool in the Manage Groups area of the Groups tool. Due to add/drops, wait until the second week of the course to avoid making too many changes to small group memberships.
Update documents, such as your syllabus, that need changes each semester. Be sure to change the term, any specific course information, and office hours that might have changed.
Check all Internet links you provide for your students in the D2L course. Make sure that the websites you are linking to still exist and that the URLs have not changed.
Make sure E-Reserve articles are still available and that the links are the same.
Although gradebook items copy over from previous courses, you will still need to complete the Grades Setup process.
If any of the documents that were copied contain QuickLinks and were created before June 2005 (e.g., a link to the discussion tool from the content area), you will need to recreate this QuickLink, as the link in the new course will reference your previous course. Once you recreate the link using the current version of D2L (v. 8.3), you should not have to recreate the link in the future.
If any of the HTML documents that were copied contain internal page links (e.g., named anchors or bookmarks) or links to other HTML pages saved in the D2L course, you will need to either edit the code so that the links refer to the current course files and not to the previous course files, or download the HTML files from the previous course and load them into the current course by using the Create Topic --> Upload New File method.
