QuickLink allows you to link to a course file, CD content, or another area within your course. Creating a topic with QuickLink also allows you to link relevant course material to its appropriate section in the Course Content page. This is beneficial to the student because it eliminates the need to leave the Course Content page for materials pertinent to the chosen section. For example, you can create a link to a quiz directly from the Course Content page, rather than having the student search for the correct quiz from QUIZZES on the Navigation bar.
The following directions use the example of linking to a discussion.
From the Course Home page, on the Navigation bar, click CONTENT
From the Administration section, click ADD TOPIC
The New Topic pane appears.

From the Parent Module pull-down list, select the module this topic will appear under
In the Title text box, type the desired title
OPTIONAL: In the Short Title text box, type an abbreviated title
NOTE: Short Titles, when available, are used in the Content navigation widget.
Click INSERT QUICKLINK![]()
The Insert QuickLink dialog box appears.
From the Category pull-down list, select a category
EXAMPLE: Select Discussion Forum and Topics
The Item pull-down list is refreshed with options appropriate to your selection.
Complete the option(s) in the dialog box pertaining to the category you selected
EXAMPLE: From the Item pull-down list, select the desired discussion
Click INSERT
The New Topic - Link pane reflects your choices.
To save the topic, click SAVE
To save the topic and create another, click SAVE & NEW
You are taken to the Content Manager pane.
