Process Overview
This table shows the process for teaching an online course with Desire2Learn, including those aspects which are unique to Desire2Learn.
Phase I: Pre-prep
Phase II: Development
- Set objectives for use of Desire2Learn
- Develop plan
- Gather and develop materials
- Develop in Desire2Learn
- Adjust Desire2Learn access/security settings
Phase III: Preparing to Teach
- Gather resources for students unfamiliar with Desire2Learn
- BITS provides free technology assistance and training for students
Phase IV: Teaching the Class
- Share general Desire2Learn information with students
- Teach the class
- Add and update Desire2Learn content and resources as required
Phase V: Wrapping up
- Course is closed and can be copied to serve as a base for future classes
- Submit grades
- Reflect on how Desire2Learn worked for you; plan and implement changes for next time
