News FAQs

return to topHow do I display dates when posting News items?

  1. In the My Eau Claire Courses widget, click the desired course
    The Course Home page opens.

  2. In the News widget, click NEW NEWS ITEMNew News Item button
    The New Item pane appears

  3. In the Headline text box, type the desired headline

  4. In the Content text box, type the desired news

  5. In the Availability section, select Show Start Date Beside Headline

  6. Click SAVE

If you have already posted your News item and wish to add the date,

  1. Click EDITEdit button
    The Edit Item pane appears.

  2. In the Availability section, select Show Start Date Beside Headline

  3. Click SAVE

return to topHow do I get my students to read News items?

If you make your News item more visually interesting by doing things like changing the text color and using bold, students are more likely to notice that the message has changed and thus, are more likely to read it. These options are available on the advanced tab when you create the message. Also be sure to include the post date when adding a News item.
