Using Desire2Learn can be an easy way to distribute surveys and tabulate results. You can create several types of survey questions, including long answer, fill in the blank, multiple choice, and Likert scale. You can also restrict availability of the survey and specify the results' release.
Creating the survey is just the first step. This document walks you through the Properties tab of the New Survey dialog box. For more related topics, refer to Setting Survey Restrictions and Creating Survey Questions.
From the Course Home page, on the Navigation bar, click SURVEY
The Manage Surveys pane appears.
NOTE: To add Survey to the Navigation bar, see Customizing the Navigation Bars.
Click NEW ![]()
The Manage Surveys - New pane appears.
On the Properties tab, in the General section, in the Name text box, type a name for the survey

Click SAVE
The new category is saved and the Add New Category pane closes.
If you want question feedback available at all times, select give instant feedback
NOTE: The option is selected if a checkmark appears before it.
To allow anonymous completion of the survey, select make results anonymous

If the Messages options are not displayed, in the Messages section, click EXPAND MESSAGES
The Messages section options appear.

To enable a description, above the Description text box, select on
In the Description text box, type a description of the survey
In the Submission Message text box, type a message to be displayed when users submit the survey
If the Page Footer options are not displayed, in the Page Footer section, click EXPAND PAGE FOOTER
To enable a Page Footer, above the Page Footer text box, select on
In the Page Footer text box, type a message to appear at the bottom of the survey
Click SAVE SURVEY
The new survey is saved.
