Editing the course Tools allows you to change the name of the tool. You can also determine which tools will be available for use on the Navigation bar.
You have the option to change the display name for the tools you use in your course. For example, rather than Schedule, perhaps you want the link to say Calendar.
From the My Home page, select the desired course
The Course Home page appears.
On the Navigation bar, click EDIT COURSE
The Course Administration pane appears.
In the Administration section, click TOOLS![]()
The Tools pane appears.

To create a new name, in the Display Name text box, type the new name
To edit the tool help text, click EDIT HELP![]()
Click SAVE
NOTES:
The changes are saved.
You must refresh your browser window or log out and log back in before the changes will be displayed.
To return to the course, click COURSE HOME
If you disable a course tool that has a link on the Navigation bar, the link will also disappear from the Navigation bar. For more information, refer to Customizing the Navigation Bar.
From the My Home page, select the desired course
The Course Home page appears.
On the Navigation bar, click EDIT COURSE
The Course Administration pane appears.
On the Navigation bar, click TOOLS![]()
The Tools pane appears.

Click SAVE
NOTES:
The tool is disabled for the course.
You must refresh your browser window or log out and log back in before the change appears on the Navigation bar.
From the My Home page, select the desired course
On the Navigation bar, click EDIT COURSE
The Course Administration pane appears.
On the Navigation bar, click TOOLS![]()
The Tools pane appears.

From the My Home page, select the desired course
The Course Home page appears.
From the Course Home page, click EDIT COURSE
The Course Administration pane appears.
On the Navigation bar, click TOOLS ![]()
The Tools pane appears.

Select the tools you want to restore to default
HINT: A tool is selected when a checkmark appears in the box next to it.
Click RESET STATE TO DEFAULT![]()
The Active/Inactive state of the tool is changed back to the default setting.
NOTE: This does not apply for the Schedule tool.
Click SAVE

To return to your course, on the navigation bar, click COURSE HOME
