Inviting Multiple Contacts to an IM Conversation

Office Communicator 2007 makes it easy to invite more contacts into an instant messaging (IM) conversation. When there are more than two people communicating in an IM session, it is called a conference. This feature is beneficial when you want to hear more than one opinion on a topic or you want to collaborate with more than one person on a project. This document will show you how to invite multiple contacts to an IM conversation.

  1. To start an IM conversation, from the Contact List, double-click the desired contact

  2. From the Contact List, click and drag the desired contacts to the Conversation window
    The desired contacts have been invited to the IM conversation.
    NOTE: The cursor will change intoAccepted drop cursorif the move is acceptable.

  1. To start an IM conversation, from the Contact List, double-click the desired contact
    A Conversation window appears.

  2. From the Options bar, clickInvite button
    The Invite Someone pane appears.

  3. Select the desired contact(s) from the list
    NOTE: To select more than one contact, press and hold [Ctrl] while selecting the contacts.

  4. Click OK
    The desired contacts have been invited to the IM conversation.
