Office Communicator 2007 makes it easy to manage your contacts. For example, with a large Contact List, it may be advantageous for you to create specific groups for your contacts. This document will show you how to manage your contacts by creating groups, deleting groups, adding contacts to groups, and removing contacts.
Creating groups can help you organize your contacts so that finding certain individuals will be easier, especially if you have a large Contact List. There are two methods to do this: the Menu option and the Right-click option.

Because a Contact List can become very large, Communicator 2007 allows you to collapse and view groups as you desire. For example, for contacts that you are rarely ever in communication with, you can collapse their group so that the contacts in that group will not show in the Contact List. For a group that you communicate with often, you will probably want to have that group expanded so that you can view all of the contacts. To view the contacts in a group, follow the instructions below.
In the Contact List, select the desired group
From the left of the group name, click![]()
The group list expands and the contacts are revealed.

There may be times when you need to remove a contact from a group. For example, removing a contact from a group may be appropriate if that contact is no longer working with you. You can do this by using the Contact menu.
Right-click the contact that you want to remove » select Remove from Group
NOTES:
The contact is removed from the group but remains in your Contact List.
If you want to remove the contact from your Contact List, refer to Adding Contacts: Deleting Contacts.
When a group is no longer necessary, you can easily delete the group.
Right-click the group that you want to delete » select Delete Group
NOTE: If there are still contacts in the group, a confirmation dialog box will appear.
Click OK
The group is deleted.
