Printing Options

Adobe Acrobat allows you to print selected pages or selected areas of a page. This document will guide you through the options available for printing part of a document.

You may find times when you would like to print certain pages of your document but not others. Acrobat allows you to select which pages of your PDF you would like to print.

  1. Open the PDF document you want to print

  2. In the Navigation pane, click PAGESPages icon

  3. In the Pages pane, select the pages you want to print
    HINTS:
    To select contiguous pages, click the desired page, then press and hold [Shift] and click the last page.
    To select noncontiguous pages, click the desired page, then press and hold [Ctrl] as you click additional pages.

  4. From the File menu, select Print...
    OR
    From the File toolbar, click PRINTPrint button
    The Print dialog box appears.

  5. From the Name pull-down menu, select the printer

  6. In the Print Range section, verify that Selected pages is selected

  7. From the Page Handling section, in the Copies text box, type the desired number of copies

  8. Select additional options as desired
    NOTE: A preview of the page will appear in the Preview section.

  9. Click OK

You may find times when you want to print only certain areas of a page. Acrobat allows you to take a Snapshot of the desired area, allowing you to print only the selected area.

  1. Open the PDF document you want to print

  2. Go to the page that you want to print a section of

  3. From the Select & Zoom toolbar, click SNAPSHOT TOOLSnapshot Tool button

  4. Click and drag to encompass your selection

  5. Release the mouse button
    A confirmation dialog box appears.

  6. Click OK
    Part of the page is now selected.

  7. From the File menu, select Print...
    OR
    From the File toolbar, click PRINTPrint button
    The Print dialog box appears.

  8. From the Name pull-down menu, select the printer

  9. In the Print Range section, verify that Selected graphic is selected

  10. From the Page Handling section, in the Copies text box, type the desired number of copies

  11. Select additional options as desired.
    NOTE: A preview of the page will appear in the Preview section.

  12. Click OK
