The Text Edits tools let you either highlight text or suggest edits to text in PDF files. This document explains how to use the Text Edits tools, which are located on the Comment & Markup toolbar.
NOTE: You can also add comment and graphic markups to your PDF files. For more information, refer to Using the Comment & Markup Tools.
The Text Edits tools are located on the Comment & Markup toolbar. To conveniently access these tools, the toolbar can be displayed.
From the View menu, select Toolbars » Comment & Markup
The Comment & Markup toolbar appears.
NOTE: If the Comment & Markup toolbar is already displayed, a check mark will appear next to the selection.

When you are suggesting edits to a PDF file it is helpful to use the Text Edits tools. These tools allow you to indicate text that should be replaced, deleted, or inserted.
From the Select & Zoom toolbar, select the Select tool![]()
Select the desired text to be edited
OR
Place your cursor at the desired insertion point
On the Comment & Markup toolbar, click the arrow
next to the TEXT EDITS button
A menu appears with different edit options.
Options available will depend on whether you selected text or an insertion point.

Select the desired editing tool
The desired markup will appear on your document.
NOTES:
Depending on the tool you use, a Pop-up Note may appear; if so, type your comments in the text box.
When finished, close the Pop-up Note.
If you have changed your mind about a text markup or if the edit(s) has been addressed, you can easily remove a text markup.
