Toxicity[4]
The toxicity and activity of all snake venom depends on the content of neurotoxins present in the venom. Sea snake venom is much more toxic than terrestial snake venom.
With most terrestial snake venom the ID50 ranges from 4000g venom/ kg animal to 6000g venom/kg organism.
In sea snakes the ID 50's typically range from 60g venom/kg animal to 600g venom/kg animal. The ID50 for Laticauda semifasciata venom is around 340g venom/kg animal.
As you can see it takes much more land snake venom than sea snake venom for a lethal dose.
