Sea snake venoms can be very useful research tools[8]. They can help elucidate diseases of muscles and nerves(myopathies) and neurological illnesses. Study of venoms has already improved the treatment of thrombosis. The toxins can also be used for studies of neuromuscular physiology and for the isolation of the acetlycholine receptor[4].
