1- Khannouchi surges to a 4:41 mile and hits 35K in 1:45:20 - 2 seconds ahead of Kahugu and Thys. Osoro is 7 seconds backs - with this view of his competitors - and the Chicago skyline. "I could see their move was too fast and I was not worried," Osoro noted.
Kahugu ran 4:42 and 4:49 for the miles 21 and 22. Khannouchi split 4:44 - 4:41, and Thys 4:43 - 4:44.
Osoro passed on this surge 'sitting back at 4:47 - 4:46. While Osoro lost 7 seconds in this stretch - he had held some thing in reserve for the final 7K.
