TEDDY MITCHEL (27) LEADS THE PACK PAST THE 8 MILE POST IN 39:17. MITCHEL IS FLANKED BY FOUR OTHER PACE SETTERS (L-R) JEFF JACOBS (32), MARTIN PITAYO (15), SALVADOR PARRA, MITCHELL AND EDYY HELLEBUYCK. Heading south into a slight wind, most of the contenders draft behind the pacers. Khalid Khannouchi and Peter Ndirangu cut their own slipstream at the far right side of the road. |

The second pack slows to a 5:02 clip for miles 5-8, hitting 39:55 at 8 Miles. Todd Williams will wait one more mile at this pace, then set off on his own after the lead pack.
