Terry Svihovec, Jr.
Terry was born in Eau Claire, WI and graduated from Elk Mound High School in Elk Mound, WI. Terry is a 6-12 mathematics education major with a minor in coaching at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He currently has senior status and is planning to graduate in May of 2001. Due to the increasing role probability and statistics are taking in the 6-12 curriculum, Terry is trying to gain as much experience in the field as possible. He has taken primarily statistics courses for his elective credits in his major. Currently, he is taking a seminar class on Teaching AP Statistics.Terry is also pursuing other experiences that will be valuable to him as a future teacher. Throughout his tenure at UWEC thus far, Terry has tutored a number of different students on an individual basis, worked in the Math Lab (a free tutoring service for introductory-level math classes at UWEC) for the past two semesters, teacher-assisted at the Summer Institute and Summer Science Institute at UWEC, and participated in the Elk Mound Middle School football program as a volunteer coach.
Besides being a teacher, Terry has many other interests. He enjoys many sports, with football and baseball being his favorites. He is also an avid outdoorsman, with an emphasis on trout fishing. Terry played in the percussion section in band for 8 years, sang in the choir, and is beginning to learn how to play the piano. Terry has a wide variety of interests and likes to learn new things.
