- What’s special about Golden Key?
- Relatively new honor society
- Only international honor society
- Focus on promoting education
- Check out website for benefits (exclusive discounts, job board, etc.)
- Provide service, social, and networking opportunities
- Point system for attendance; 2 $50 scholarships (or gift certificates) for members with most points
- 1 point for meeting
- 1 point for socials
- 1 point for each GK activity
- Social activities (1 per month)
- October: Fanny Hill pumpkin carving
- Bowling and food socials in the future
- Service activities (1-2 per month); contact Tom Hahn to sign-up if interested
- Adopt a teacher essay contest for 4 th or 5 th graders; best essay wins $50 or $100 for classroom
- After school enrichment program at Lakeshore; teach after school program once a week for 4-6 wks
- Book Ends program; donate books to be sent home with newborns (possibly lower income only); read to elderly at nursing homes
- Graduate school expo in April; possibly in conjunction with Career Services and other clubs (Society of Politics?)
- Hurricane Katrina wristbands
- Community Table December 9 th
- Tidy up the Town/Make a Difference Day October 29 th
- Other possible ideas
- Donate to fund for setting up model schools in Uganda
- October 9 th Crop Walk (contact Ryan Prechel if interested)
